  1. Saints and Doctors, Anselm, Proslogion, pp. 20-23. Note that "proslogion" means "meditation," or prayer. Narrate

  2. Senior Thesis, Chapter 2/Explore Your Topic, pp. 11-12. 

  3. Dante, Inferno, Canto IV. (Audio) Narrate

  4. Huckleberry Finn, Chapters 7-8. Narrate. 

  5. Psalm 6 Narrate

  6. Ben, Duolingo German, 30 minutes

  7. Rachel, Great Expectations

Day 7: 


  1. Isaiah 4-6. Narrate each chapter 

  2. Senior Thesis, Workshop, pp. 13-14. 

    1. Read the assignment carefully on p. 13

    2. Read the sample essay demonstrating epideictic rhetoric

    3. Think about your topic and any figure (or inanimate object) who/which might be connected to it in any way. 

    4. Write your own toast, salute, or tribute to this person or object. 

    5. You may write this by hand in the workbook, OR begin a new Google Doc (share with me)

    6. If you use Google Docs, PLEASE label your work clearly, e.g. “Toast,” “Salute,” “Tribute”

    7. Understand that this is quick writing, and a draft. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just DONE, which means meeting the 250-word requirement.

    3. Consider what virtues or vices might attach to your chosen topic

    4. Write your own valedictory speech, either in the space provided on p. 18 or in your Google document dedicated to thesis work. 

    5. If you use your narration document, please label this assignment CLEARLY so that I can give you credit for it, e.g. “Valedictory Speech.”

    6. Understand that this is quick writing, and a draft. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just DONE, which means meeting the 250-word requirement

    4. Remember again that this writing does not have to be especially finished or perfect, just DONE, which means meeting the 250-word requirement.
