Read the example email carefully
Consider that if you need to, you can conduct any Q&A regarding your topic via further email exchanges, so it might be good to work that into your email as well, especially if the person isn’t local.
I would use both my first and last names in the closing/signature of my email: looks more mature and professional than just using your first name
Draft your email in the space provided OR in your thesis document
If you use your doc, label your email draft CLEARLY – ”Mentor Email Draft” – so that I will see it and give you credit for it.

Again, you CAN offer and opt to “meet” with your mentor/expert via email correspondence, though an in-person, phone, or Zoom meeting is certainly fine as well.
Note the suggested phrases to help smooth a conversation along. These can be useful if you are writing back and forth as well.
Note the importance of thanking this person for their time
Read over the “Presentation Practice” on p. 51 to prepare for the conversation you will have, whether in person or via correspondence

Fides et Ratio, 17-20. Narrate
Senior Thesis, Presentation, pp. 52-53
This section provides you with space to create a little script for yourself, which can be really helpful when you are conducting an interview, whether in person, on the phone, or via email
So, fill in the script before you meet or send your “interview” email. They provide you with some sample questions which will work well, though if you have any specific ones, write them in so you don’t forget them.
This can in fact be the draft of your side of an email “interview.” It’s very common for an interviewer to send an email with a set of questions, which the interviewee can then take time to ponder and answer in a reply.
If you’re meeting in person, you’ll want to jot the interviewee’s answers in the spaces provided.
If you’re emailing, you can wait until they reply, then jot their answers, or just print them out and save them.
Take copious notes from your meeting (p. 54). The more you have written down, the less you’ll have to pull out of thin air when it’s time to write in earnest.
John Dryden, “Song to a Fair Young Lady Going Out of Town in the Spring” Narrate
Essay: "How to Do What You Love"
Psalm 25 Narrate
