Give yourself roughly an 60 to 90 minutes to write, as you would in an in-class essay exam.
Note that there are some extra-credit essay questions at the bottom. If you would like to boost your grades, you may do one or more. These too should be 300-500 words.

Answer the following question in a short essay of 100-300 words, giving specific examples from the Inferno to illustrate your points:
Describe Dante's descent into Hell so far: why he is making this journey, who his companion is, what people he encounters or sees, how the damned are punished in the various levels of Hell, and which one seems the worst to you so far.

Tell everything you can about Huck as a heroic figure in Huckleberry Finn. Tell what heroic qualities he innately possesses, and what qualities he develops through experience in the course of the novel, and what he does to reveal those qualities through word and action. You might note particularly how he changes as the novel progresses, perhaps especially in his sense of what is moral and right.
