Week 10


Note that next week is an essay week. Now would be a good time to read over your narrations and revisit your readings to be sure you'll have something to say. 


Day 51: 

  1. Saints and Doctors, John Fisher, pp. 122-130 Narrate

  2. Senior thesis makeup time

  7. If you have not yet begun your application process for the Abbey, click here and choose "Traditional Students." Read the directions underneath that heading before you proceed, noting that you will need to make an account with CFNC in order to fill in your application. Do so with care, taking all the time you need. Also note that you will need to check with the registrar to see what to do about transcripts from the Abbey (since you're applying TO the Abbey, you might not need to request to have one sent, but I'm not sure about that . . . ordinarily you would have BAC transcripts sent along with your home high-school transcript as part of your application package).


Day 52:

  7. Work on your Abbey application. Check in with me about this. If I need to write you a counselor letter (I know UD's application and others require a letter from your "school guidance counselor," which is one thing I am . . . ). We also need to determine whether you need a recommendation letter from a teacher (I can't remember what this application asks for). We can talk about whom you'd approach to do this – ideally someone besides me.


Day 53: 

  1. Mark 9-12 Narrate each chapter

  2. Senior thesis makeup time

  3. Dante, Inferno, Canto XXXIII Narrate

  4. Psalm 48 Narrate

  5. Ben, Duolingo

  6. Work on your Abbey application.


Day 54: 

  1. 2 Peter 1-3 Narrate each chapter

  2. Senior thesis makeup 

  3. Dante, Inferno, Canto XXXIV Narrate

  4. Hazlitt, Economics in One Lesson, pp. 41-50 Narrate each page in one sentence

  5. Psalm 49 Narrate

  6. Ben, Duolingo

  7. Work on your Abbey application.


Day 55: 

  1. Fides et Ratio, 36-40. Narrate

  3. Senior thesis makeup

  5. Other reading makeup

  6. Work on your Abbey application, and let me know when you are finished so that I can get your transcripts and other materials on my end ready to send.


NOTE THAT NEXT WEEK IS AN ESSAY WEEK, UNLESS YOU ARE EXEMPT.
